Dr. Palmer joined BillionToOne in January 2023 as Chief Medical Officer, Oncology. He has held senior leadership positions at multiple successful biotechnology companies. He was Vice President of Medical Affairs at Genomic Health. He served as Chief Medical Officer of On-Q-ity, a circulating tumor cell company. Subsequently, he was Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs at Foundation Medicine, Chief Medical Officer at NantHealth, and most recently Chief Medical Officer at Tempus. Prior to these and several other roles in industry, Dr. Palmer served as a medical oncologist in both academia and in the community setting, including serving as the director of the Medical Breast Service at the University of California, Davis, Cancer Center and Chief of Medical Oncology at the Mercy Health System, Sacramento, California.

Dr. Palmer is a magna cum laude graduate of Yale University and a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine. He did his internal medicine training at the Boston City Hospital and his oncology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Davis, and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from U.C.L.A. As well, Dr. Palmer holds a J.D. degree and is admitted as an attorney to the State Bar of California.

Ross Taylor joined BillionToOne as Chief Financial Officer in January 2024. Ross has 30 years of financial leadership experience spanning roles as chief financial officer for two public companies and as an equity research analyst on Wall Street. Ross was Chief Financial Officer for Codexis, Inc. from 2019 to 2023. In addition, he was Chief Financial Officer of Abaxis, Inc. from August 2015 to July 2018 when Zoetis acquired Abaxis, and Vice President of Business Development & Investor Relations of Abaxis from October 2014 through July 2015. Prior to Abaxis, Ross worked in equity research at various Wall Street firms including CL King & Associates, UBS, Smith Barney, and CJ Lawrence. Mr. Taylor earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Duke University.

Shan joined BillionToOne in January 2019. She oversees clinical and software product management, marketing, clinical, and medical affairs at BillionToOne. Shan is passionate about developing and delivering life-changing diagnostic products to patients and providers. 

She has over 15 years of experience in launching and managing a wide range of products from software products to precision diagnostics clinical assays. Shan started her career at McKinsey & Co., where she worked with Fortune 100 companies on various product, branding, and go-to-market strategy projects. Shan holds an MBA from Stanford University, an MPA/ID from Harvard University, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Tom Lynch joined BillionToOne as our first General Counsel in October 2022. He brings over 20 years of experience leading life science teams to bring impactful solutions for patients.  Prior to joining us, he served as Chief Compliance Officer, Advanced Healthcare Solutions at Fortive Corporation.  From 2018 to 2021, Tom served as the Chief Legal Officer at Nuwellis, a publicly traded, medical device company.  Tom served as the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at Orexigen Therapeutics, a publicly traded, biotech company, from 2015 to 2018. Between 2002 and 2015, he held various senior legal and compliance positions at Boston Scientific Corporation and Novartis Pharma, including three years heading the global Neuroscience legal team in Switzerland.

Tom began his legal career representing public and private companies at Dorsey & Whitney LLP.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, a juris doctorate degree from Boston College Law School and a master’s degree in teaching from University of St. Thomas.

John joined BillionToOne in September 2020. He has a passion for genomics, laboratory medicine, and providing quality care to the patients he serves. John has over 10 years of experience providing leadership to high complexity CLIA laboratories including regulatory oversight, clinical laboratory operations, and test development. He joins BillionToOne from Kaiser Permanente where he served both as Laboratory Director and Director of Quality in the Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics laboratories.

John received his PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics at Stanford and UCLA.

Nancy joined BillionToOne in 2019. Nancy has a passion for building and leading commercial sales teams. She believes in the empowerment of individuals to achieve personal and professional goals. Nancy brings more than 20 years of diagnostic sales leadership experience in both start-up and large-scale sales organizations. Most recently Nancy played an instrumental role in Foundation Medicine’s commercial strategy and execution, building and leading her sales team to success. Prior to Foundation Medicine, she held several commercial leadership positions at various molecular diagnostic companies.

Nancy started her career as a board-certified Medical Technologist and holds a BS in Medical Technology from Creighton University.

An unrelenting executionist, Brent has fiercely loyal customers and has helped multiple start-ups with hyper-growth plans from series A through IPO.

Brent graduated from the University of Arizona and has a history of success in the tech and biotech industries.

Bryce joined BillionToOne in June 2023 as the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. Bryce has worked in the medical device and molecular diagnostic space for over 26 years. Most recently, Bryce was the Vice President of Quality at Lucira Health where he was responsible for leading to market the first ever FDA approved direct-to-consumer multiplex Covid/Flu diagnostic test.

Prior to joining Lucira Health, Bryce has held various leadership roles in Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Continuous Improvement at companies such as Becton Dickinson, DJO Global, Zimmer, and Cardinal Health.

Bryce is a lean champion and change ambassador who believes in a proactive quality approach that reduces costs, improves productivity, increases overall quality, and improves customer loyalty.

Bryce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Management, a Master of Science degree in Operations Management, an MBA in Leadership, and is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Kepner Tregoe (KT) Trainer.

Bryce will play a critical role in Continuous Improvement, Regulatory Strategy, and Quality implementation at BillionToOne.

Carrie McGehee

Carrie McGehee joined the BillionToOne team in August 2021. Carrie is passionate about expanding access to novel diagnostic tests and is recognized for her ability to gain coverage and contracts with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies. Her work has been defined by developing and implementing strategic and innovative ways to overcome challenges that accelerate top and bottom-line growth. Carrie brings over 20 years of experience working with molecular diagnostic companies and has held several leadership positions including 11 years at Genzyme Genetics and 6 years at Sequenom Center for Molecular Medicine, the first company to bring non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) to the market. Carrie and her team were instrumental in policy development for NIPT and contracted with over 200 payers in the US.


Carrie started her career in healthcare as a neonatal intensive care and pediatric Registered Nurse. She graduated from North Texas Central College with a degree in Nursing.

Most recently Cory was CMO at a fast growing Telepsychiatry brand where he found a passion for healthcare. 

Cory started his career in management consulting with Accenture and holds a BBA in Strategic Management from University of North Texas.

Jennifer joined BillionToOne in July 2020. As a certified genetic counselor with over 17 years of clinical experience, Jen is committed to ensuring patients and providers are supported and educated about the options and utility of prenatal testing. Jen joins BillionToOne after 17 years as a prenatal genetic counselor at UTHealth where she led a team of genetic counselors providing patient care in MFM clinics across the city of Houston. Jen has extensive volunteer and leadership experience within national societies such as American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and National Society of Genetic Counselors. She served as president of NSGC in 2014.

Jen earned her MS in genetic counseling from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Truman State University.

Judy Wong joined BillionToOne as Vice President, Controller in July 2024. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance operations, with a focus in the life science industry. Prior to joining BillionToOne, Judy held various corporate and management positions at public and privately held companies, including Vivani Medical, Inc., HeartFlow, ALX Oncology and Abaxis (acquired by Zoetis).Earlier in her career, she worked in public accounting, where she also served as auditor in the audit and assurance practice at Deloitte. Judy received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley and MBA from San Jose State University. She is a certified public accountant in the state of California.

Dhruv joined BillionToOne in July 2021, after several years spent working in finance, technology and healthcare in the United States, Singapore, and India. He is excited to bring those diverse experiences and perspectives to something he is passionate about—using innovation to improve individuals’ health and quality of life. Dhruv focuses on providing the best technology solutions to patients and providers, including EMR integrations, portals and other software tools that improve turnaround time and efficiency.

Dhruv received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he was awarded the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship Fellowship, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Lisa joined BillionToOne in September of 2023. Recognized nationally as an expert in population-based carrier screening and has published extensively on Ashkenazi Jewish genetic disorders, Lisa has developed several novel test methods, including the identification of individuals that are at increased risk of being silent carriers for spinal muscular atrophy as well as the use of genetic ancestry in pan-ethnic carrier screening. With more than 18 years of experience as a clinical laboratory leader and CLIA director, Lisa was a co-founder of Sema4 and held the title of Chief Diagnostics Officer from 2017 to 2022. Prior to her time at Sema4, Lisa was the Executive Director of the Mount Sinai Genetic Testing Laboratory.

Lisa received her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and received her fellowship training from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she became board certified in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics. Lisa currently holds the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at Mount Sinai.

Michele Phelps joined BillionToOne in September 2021. She is passionate about building efficiencies and scaling processes to allow companies to improve patient care and develop life changing products. She has 18+ years of finance experience in both start-up and multi-national companies in the life sciences and technology industries, with 13+ years focused in the oncology laboratory diagnostic space.

Prior to joining BillionToOne, Michele was at Exact Sciences, where she led FP&A for the Precision Oncology Business Unit and post-merger acquisitions. Before Exact Sciences, as Director of FP&A at Genomic Health, Michele scaled the FP&A team to support four core product launches and international entity and product expansion.

Michele began her career as part of the StubHub start-up team and played a key role in the later acquisition by eBay. Michele has a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance and Financial Services.

Steven Drucker joined the BillionToOne team in May 2022.  Steven is passionate about market access strategy and working to drive growth through data-centric initiatives.  He has over 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries, with a proven track record of successful patient access and payer coverage strategies.

Steven most recently served as the Director, Payer Relations and Reimbursement at Foundation Medicine, and has held various customer-facing positions at Castle Biosciences, Genomic Health and Sanofi.  Steven is responsible for payer medical policies, contract implementation and revenue pull through.  

Steven has a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Business Administration.

Vaghar joined BillionToOne in December of 2021 as the first member of the People Operations team. Vaghar oversees all aspects of People Operations, including Talent Acquisition and the full employee experience. Vaghar is passionate about helping companies scale, while maintaining an industry leading employee experience and maximizing employee retention.

Vaghar is a seasoned HR Operational Leader with over 15 years of experience in driving organizational growth and efficiency. With a strong background in organizational development, system implementation, and strategic analysis, Vaghar has a proven track record of enhancing company growth, while establishing and/or maintaining thriving company cultures. His expertise spans across business forecasting, capital strategies, team building, and HR compliance.

Throughout his career, Vaghar has held leadership positions at innovative healthcare organizations such as Gateway Learning Group, and CID Management. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to build high-performing teams, drive key initiatives, and facilitate growth. Vaghar’s notable achievements include redesigning employee experience cycles, resulting in significant increases in retention and revenue, implementing multiple ATS and HRIS systems, and developing complex automated payroll systems that drastically reduced overhead costs.

With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering & Minor in Mathematics from San Jose State University, Vaghar combines his technical acumen with strong operational leadership to deliver impactful results in the HR and operations space.

Amy joined BillionToOne in June 2022 and has 10+ years of experience in marketing, product strategy, and product management across the pharmaceutical, medical device, and molecular diagnostic verticals.  Amy is passionate about delivering novel technologies which have the potential to change the clinical paradigm for women’s health. Since 2016, she has focused her career in doing so at companies including Counsyl, Myriad Women’s Health, and DotLab.

Amy started her career as a process engineer and holds a Bachelors of Science from UCLA with a major in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. She also holds an MBA from Duke University where she focused in Health Sector Management and Marketing.

Brandon joined BillionToOne in 2021 as the Regional Sales Manager in Texas and was responsible for building out the Texas team. In January of 2023, Brandon was promoted to Area Sales Director of the Western region.

Brandon has worked in medical sales for over 23 years with more than 10 years in the molecular diagnostic lab space focused on women’s health. Brandon has held positions from Sales Representative to Regional Sales Director and has won multiple Chairman’s Club awards during his career.

Brandon believes in building strong diagnostic sales teams through ongoing coaching, creating a collaborative environment, and developing sales professionals with a passion for changing how healthcare is delivered.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lamar University.

Brittany joined BillionToOne in April of 2021. During her tenure with BillionToOne, she has held positions as Area Sales Manager, Director of Learning & Development, and is currently BillionToOne’s Area Sales Director of the East Region, overseeing 26 states. 

Brittany brings 15 years of medical sales experience to BTO, nine years of which have been in the diagnostic lab space. She is a multi-time President’s Club winner and has held the accolades of Rookie of the Year, Account Executive of the Year, Area Manager of the Year, and #1 in the salesforce (Account Executive and Area Sales Manager) throughout her career. 

Brittany focuses her efforts on coaching through change, solutions-oriented approaches, unwavering accountability, and the full investment in and the development of people which leads to successful business owners. Brittany is passionate about driving results year after year by creating fervent sales teams who partner with providers to ensure the best possible care for patients and who are experts in their field. 

Brittany holds a B.S. from Samford University in Business Management with a Marketing Concentration.

Elliott joined BillionToOne in August 2024. His career spans both academia (NIH) and industry (Illumina), focusing on developing software and informatics systems that make genomic information accessible and actionable for physicians and patients. As a strategic bioinformatics leader, Elliott is dedicated to building interdisciplinary teams that bridge software development and genome analysis, driving impactful clinical applications. His leadership has shaped scalable bioinformatics solutions that accelerate the adoption of genomics in healthcare.

Elliott earned his PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Human Genome Research Institute.

Heather joined BillionToOne in July 2023 as the Director of Market Access, Policy Development. As a certified genetic counselor with over 20 years of combined business and clinical experience, Heather is focused on ensuring that patients and providers are empowered to access genomic technologies and targeted therapies that provide them with the information and options most critical to timely healthcare decision-making. Heather joins BillionToOne with over 18 years of experience in clinical policy development, utilization management and molecular coding, billing and reimbursement.

Heather has extensive volunteer and leadership experience within national societies and government agencies such as the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services where she has served on the Medicare Advisory Panel on Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Services since 2019. She also served on the Board of Directors of NSGC in 2019-2020.


Heather earned her MS in genetic counseling from the University of Pittsburgh and her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Temple University.

Dr. Jay Chang joined BillionToOne in 2021 with over a decade of experience as an OBGYN in private practice. His diverse background is perfectly suited for his role as the Director of Medical Partnerships. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin on The Dean’s List with the highest honors, double majoring in Neurobiology, B.S. and a Human Biology: Genetics and Biotechnology, B.S. all before turning 20 years old. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas before starting residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. From there he could not turn down an opportunity to transfer and complete his residency at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. His unique training spans both the East and West Coast and even Parkland Memorial Hospital at the foundation of obstetrics at the heart of the country gives him first hand knowledge of the challenges faced by physicians in different parts of the country. He has a unique love of both the science and the medicine while excelling in both. He passion for caring for pregnant patients and their unborn babies is unparalleled and contagious. His dedication to teaching has won him numerous awards from his patients, attendings, colleagues, nurses, and trainees, including: The Patient Safety Award, Outstanding Chief Resident Award, Golden Apple Teaching Award, Circle of Friends at Cedars-Sinai, Perfect Scores on Patient Satisfaction by Press Ganey, etc. At BillionToOne Dr. Chang is scaling his impact on patients from thousands to millions each year.

Jon joined BillionToOne in August of 2022 as a Director of Market Access. Jon is dedicated to building lasting business relationships with BillionToOne’s Managed Care partners. Jon is focused on ensuring their member/patients have access to the valuable testing results BillionToOne can provide them in their critical time of care.

Jon brings tremendous experience to the Market Access Team in Women’s Health, Oncology, and Precision Medicine. He has been in the genetics, and diagnostic arena for over 25 years in his previous roles at Genzyme Genetics, Integrated Genetics, and Invitae. Jon is responsible for building new payer business relationships, medical policies, contract implementation, and revenue pull-through.

  Julia Wynn

Julia joined BillionToOne in 2022 and has more than 15 years of experience as a clinical and research genetic counselor. Prior to joining BTO, Julia was an Associate Professor of Genetic Counseling at Columbia University Medical Center. She led and participated in research exploring the patient experience of genetic testing and the clinical implementation of novel genetic technology. Julia is author or co-author on over 90 peer reviewed journal articles. Among her multiple volunteer experiences, she was chair of the Research Quality and Outcomes committee and co-chair of the Research Special Interest Group of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC). She was the recipient of the Jane Engelberg Memorial Fellowship in 2016.

Julia earned her masters in epidemiology from Columbia University and her masters in genetic counseling from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Prior to joining BillionToOne, Kristie spent her previous six years leading the clinical support, education and training team at Sema4. Kristie believes knowledge has the potential to be powerful and is passionate about bringing novel, high-quality genetic testing solutions to healthcare providers and the patients they serve. Kristie has been an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors since 1999.

Kristie earned her Master’s of Science in Human Genetics, specializing in Genetic Counseling from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Mathematics from William Smith College.

Prior to joining BTO, Kitty has worked in multiple biotech companies throughout San Diego and Bay Area. She was previously at Guardant Health where she built the lab operations for their oncology MRD assay.

Kitty received her clinical laboratory training at University of California, Irvine Medical Center and is a board-certified Medical Technologist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of California, Berkeley.

As the Director of Talent Acquisition at BillionToOne, Stacey leads high-performing recruiting teams that help scale organizations in challenging and niche markets.

Stacey is passionate about fostering inclusive, values-driven cultures and creating exceptional candidate experiences. Sunny’s passion is rooted in the patient and believes that the role of a well-developed diagnostic test is life changing to the patients in which it serves. As science and technology continues to push the limits of conventional medicine, it is imperative that patients and clinicians have access to these valuable tools.

Prior to BillionToOne, Sunny worked for large commercial labs such as Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp. More recently, Sunny worked with specialty esoteric companies such as Myriad Genetics and Foundation Medicine where she initiated medical policy updates and executed numerous contracts resulting in key revenue growth.

Sunny completed her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations with a Business minor at the University of Florida where she developed her love for the SEC and Gators. Sunny then went on to complete her MBA at Florida State University where she learned to overcome her moral dilemma of attending a rival school.

Taylor Pollock joined the BillionToOne Legal and Compliance team in August 2023. Taylor has more than 20 years of private practice and in-house experience in the healthcare and life sciences fields, including more than a decade of leadership and management experience in the medical device industry. He has built and developed high-performing, proactive legal teams and is experienced in handling a broad range of legal and business issues, including complex litigation, M&A and commercial matters. Prior to going in-house, Taylor was in private practice at two Denver law firms providing legal and compliance advice to hospitals, physician groups and other healthcare industry clients.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a law degree from University of Denver.

Karel joined BillionToOne in March of 2022. He brings 20+ years of experience in all facets of supply chain and materials management spanning inventory management, purchasing, ERP systems, cold chain, production planning, warehousing operations, and vendor & CMO management. His past biotech work experiences include Pendulum Therapeutics, CareDx, Adaptive Biotechnologies, Genomic Health, and Applied Biosystems.

Karel Started his career with Monsanto upon graduation from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Business Administration – Finance.
